On Monday we welcomed Theo and Hannah from the Jewish Museum who led workshops for Years 4, 5 and 6 all about Judaism and the Torah. The children enjoyed the sessions and it was a great start to our week learning about Judaism.

In Year 4, we had an amazing workshop by the Jewish Museum. We explored various symbols of Judaism, such as the Star of David, kippah, Torah, and the Menorah. Each symbol has its own meaning, which was fascinating to learn about. We even got to try some of them out; for example, we got to wear the kippahs. This hands-on experience made the learning much more memorable. We loved seeing how these symbols represent important beliefs and traditions in Jewish culture. It was a wonderful workshop filled with discovery and respect for diversity!

Year 5 took part in a terrific workshop by the London Jewish Museum. The children explored a range of different religious items such as the Torah scroll, the Kippah, the Tallit (a prayer shawl), the Mezuzah and a Yad. They also explored a picture of a child's Bar Mitzvah, investigating the different items worn and discussing this special ceremony. The children also had an opportunity to write words in Hebrew using a special calligraphy pen. Everybody agreed that it was a lot harder than it looked!

In Year 6 children were learning about the Torah, kippah, shofar and tallit. Children had a go at some Hebrew calligraphy. We thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and learnt so much about Jewish beliefs, history and traditions.
