Gardening Club June 2017

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have been planting nasturtiums with Helen. The children were surprised to hear that as well as being colourful and long-flowering, the flowers are also edible!

The new members of the Gardening Club have been busy harvesting radishes and salad leaves and growing and repotting plants to sell at the summer fair in July . We hope to have tomatoes, as well as flowers - nasturtiums, calendula and cosmos to sell, and as usual, all proceeds will go to the Gardening Club. Meanwhile, Year 4 had fun digging up the potatoes they planted in March. A few toads had found their way from the compost heap where they live, into the potato sacks, which caused a few shrieks from the children!
