Reception and Year One Home Learning General Documents

Reception Home Learning General Resources

Please find a selection of websites and resources below that can compliment the Home Learning that I set. Please use these suggestions as much or as little as you see fit.

Phonics Resources

  • We follow the ‘Letters and Sounds’ Phonics scheme. Beginning on Monday 27th April 2020 they will be uploading phonics lessons for Reception and Year 1 onto YouTube. They currently have an intro to blending lessons (if your child is finding the Reception lessons hard), an intro to Reception lessons, and an intro to Year 1 lessons (if your child find the Reception ones too easy). The channel is called ‘Letters and sounds for home and school’ but I have attached the link below.

  • BBC Bitesize Phase 3 videos for each sound: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zvq9bdm

Other Resources

  • The BBC are starting daily online lessons from Monday 20th April. While they don’t have any specifically for Early Years you may find some of the Year One lessons useful, especially as we are in the last term of Reception, preparing the children for the more formal setting of Year One. Feel free to use this as much or as little as you wish.

  • The Oak National Academy launched on Monday 20 April. This brand new enterprise has been created by 40 teachers from some of the leading schools across England, backed by government grant funding. It provides 180 video lessons each week, across a broad range of subjects from maths to art to languages, for every year group from Reception through to Year 10. Feel free to use this as much or as little as you wish. Follow the link: https://www.thenational.academy

  • We also have remote access to the Busy Things website for all children. Busy Things is a   fantastic website with a range of games and activities for children across the primary age range. The kids love playing on Busy Things in school, especially the maths and phonics games.
